Drumming, Singing, and Dancing

Post and photos submitted by Shannon Kaupp

We recently had special visitors to the kindergarten classroom, for an afternoon of African music and movement!  The children learned about drumming, singing and dancing traditions from Ghana.  They were then draped in costume and enjoyed singing and moving to the music.

One of the songs the kids really liked was called “Bobobo” – the name itself, predictably, led to big smiles.drum pic 1

Many thanks to Cam Collyer and his friends for bringing the sounds and soul of Ghana to our classroom.
