We want to take a moment to thank all of the people who supported Equinox’s application to MusiCounts for a grant towards musical instruments for our school. With your help, we put together what we hope is an impressive package for MusiCounts.
More specifically, we received about 60 parent letters of support! Sixty people took the time to write, the same time that you could have spent working, attacking the laundry, fixing the broken cabinet hinge, or sleeping. We know it. We thank you.
You should also know that the teachers and students threw their weight behind the application too. We had even more student letters than parents letters, and they were beautifully crafted from all the grades. These ranged from a few words a page (“I love myoosik”) to paragraphs of clearly articulated prose from older students who know very well how much the instruments could bring into their lives.
It’s our first year applying for the grant, so we’re in wait-and-see mode, and expect to hear back sometime in February 2013. We will, of course, keep you informed.
Until then, we really just wanted to say thank you, and to let you know that you play on a good team. Thank you again for your support!
