Newsletter August 2009

VOLUME 1, ISSUE 2

Greetings everyone, and hope you are having a great summer so far. Here’s what’s happening in the WCS community this month:

The Interior Space Committee has some information on their weekly craft circle. Learn more at: http://www.wholechildschool.ca/2009/07/21/weekly-craft-circle/

There is a poll to gauge parent interest in the possibility of doing a bulk purchase of outdoor clothing for kids. More information can be found here: http://www.wholechildschool.ca/2009/07/16/outdoor-clothing-bulk-purchasing/

It’s great to hear that many families have been meeting each other for playdates or other activities so far this summer. The Social Committee will also be arranging class-specific get-togethers later this month. Please contact the Social Committee class representative(s) for the appropriate grade with your child’s name, your name, phone number and email, in order that they can send event details as they are confirmed.

The class reps are:

JK: Sean Hurs  simpleexecution@yahoo.ca

SK: Gary Wang mrgarywang@hotmail.com

Gr 1: Justin Groen  justin.groen@sympatico.ca

Gr 2: Paula Jubinville  pjubinville@aqueous.ca

Gr 3: Amy Goffin  agoffin@sympatico.ca

Gr 4/5: Susan Domingue  fsdomingue@primus.ca

Because it’s summer, we couldn’t resist a couple of reruns. For anyone who missed it in the July update, or for anyone new to WCS since then, the following two links contain some key school and program information:

For anyone who missed the Open House on June 19th, please read the complete note from the teachers, which also includes valuable information on each area of study at WCS: http://www.wholechildschool.ca/2009/07/09/news-from-the-teachers/

The teachers have also provided an informative and detailed program overview of the main themes and content grade-by-grade. Please see here for more: http://www.wholechildschool.ca/2009/07/09/wcs-program-overview/#more-423

Please help us to make the WCS News better – send any feedback to: brad.clarke@sympatico.ca

We also invite you to visit the WCS website www.wholechildschool.ca any time to get information updates, ask questions, and connect with other parents.

Have a great month!
