NEWS
Advisory Board
Over the summer the executive committee has been working on developing an Advisory Board of top educators in the area of holistic education, who will help to shape the school’s approach and curriculum. We are excited by the responses we’ve received so far from those we’ve invited to be on this board. On September 18, we held our first meeting with members and prospective members of the advisory board. We will soon be able to announce the names of those on this board.
Proposal
We submitted a letter of intent to the school board in May. This letter contains a description of the school’s proposed approach and is available for download on the web site. The full proposal is due by September 30th, and we have completed our first draft as of this evening. The proposal will be on the web site in early October, so that supporters will have time to go over it before the information evening on October 16th
INFORMATION MEETING
Dear Whole Child School Supporter,
We would like to extend an invitation to all parents to attend an information evening regarding the Whole Child School.
This evening will be an opportunity to learn about the proposal that was made to the Toronto Distinct School Board for an alternative school within the public school system for the 2008-2009 school year.
Questions and comments generated from the website and from the evening itself will be addressed by various members of the Whole Child School Executive Committee.
There will also be an opportunity to meet Jack Miller a member of the Advisory board for the Whole Child School and the author of the book, Holistic Curriculum.
This evening will give everyone a chance to meet other parents that have shown an interest in the the school and to share the excitement of preparing for the 2008-2009 school year.
Please mark Tuesday October 16th, 2007 from 7:00pm to 8:30pm at Ralph Thornton Centre, 2nd floor, on your calendars.
We look forward to meeting all the supporters of this exciting project.
